CALCULATOR

Calculate with Confidence, Cover with Quality

HOW MUCH DO I NEED

Here's how to measure your yard for soil, mulch, compost or stone:  Grab a piece of paper and draw the areas to be measured.  Break up areas in shapes like listed below.  Measure the areas and write down your measurements.  Enter your measurements into our calculator below for each section. Add totals together.

  • Measure the length and width of your mulch beds, garden, etc.

We recommend a depth of 4 inches for a new area that might need mulch, soil, compost, etc. Less if you are simply topping off your beds. For new lawns, we recommend at least 6 inches of lawn soil.

  • Determine how deep you want to spread your mulch, soil, etc.

*The calculator will tell you how much product you need, and we will round up to the nearest 0.5 cubic yard. For larger stone products, we recommend adding 0.5-1 extra yards to ensure spaces are filled properly.
